Project Harvest

Greetings Clerc Center Family,
On Monday and Tuesday, November 20th-22nd Project Harvest will be distributing thanksgiving baskets to needy families in the DC Metropolitan Area. Our focus will be on the students and their families of Clerc Center. Over the years, we have had student volunteers from KDES and MSSD volunteer in this effort as a community service project. This year I am requesting volunteers from adults who are willing to join us and make our process smoother with your helping hands. We need you to join us on the bus trip at 9:00a.m. to the site where we will be folding boxes, sorting canned goods and fresh vegetables, packing baskets and bring turkeys to the bus back to KDES. When we arrive we will prepare the baskets for families to pick up and possible drop off to families who are not able to pick up their baskets by Tuesday, November 22nd. Sounds like fun? Or something you feel you can contribute? Please respond directly to Georgia.weaver@gallaudet.edu if you are interested.

We regret to inform the KDES community that Aisha Jackson, our contract Physical Therapist, will be leaving us at the end of this month. Aisha has worked with us for almost 4 years now and it has been a pleasure having her here. Her professionalism and dedication to the students at Kendall School has been very much appreciated! Although plans are already arranged to replace Aisha with another contract PT, we will still miss her smiling face and hard work at the Clerc Center. Please join me in extended her a heartfelt farewell and best wishes in her future endeavors.

Microsoft Word Horizontal Ruler
There is one area in Word where you can quickly set up margins, tab stops, and hanging indents: the horizontal ruler. The horizontal ruler is the bar across the top of your Word document with measurements marked out on it. Many people ignore it and use the various dialog boxes instead. But once you know how to use it, you'll wonder how you ever coped without it.
When: Tuesday, October 24th at 3:15 PM
Where: MSSD TecEds lab

What would you use it for: put your syllabus, class schedule/calendar, and homework on-line, create tests on-line, check for plagiarism, discussion forums, extra storage space for your files, communicate with students, gradebook, and much more!
When: Thursday, Oct. 26th at 3:15 PM
