In an effort to support the relief work as a result of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina, Gallaudet University is sending licensed counselors and social workers to do counseling with deaf and hard of hearing evacuees. Alexis Greeves, Clerc Center Outreach Specialist, is a licensed counselor that was sent to Houston this past weekend. She has set up a blog (http://clercblog.gallaudet.edu/hurricane/index.html) to document her experiences for the next two weeks.

KDES is going blog crazy!!!!

We have set up this Wildcat Weekly blog so teachers, staff, students and parents can find weekly news fast and easily.

Check out all the latest academic news on the KDES Principal's Blog (http://clercblog.gallaudet.edu/kdesprincipal) . This blog will contain information about the educational programs at KDES and our efforts to improve student achievement during the 2005-2006 school year. Much of our work will focus on our two student growth objectives - reading/writing and emotional intelligence (EQ).

Classroom teachers and students are creating blogs, too! You don't want to miss What's up with Lisa's Class (http://clercblog.gallaudet.edu/lisa). Lisa Pershan and her students will be making weekly updates to this blog including their experiences through the school year. They will include things they have learned, good and bad things that may have happened during the week and any antidotes they may desire to include.

Take a look at Exploring Language - ASL and English ( http://clercblog.gallaudet.edu/gabrielle/period3/). Gabrielle Jones designed this blog for her 3rd Period students and their parents to access class information. Her students are just learning how to create blogs so check out the student blogs on the right side of this blog.
All are welcome and encouraged to make comments on these blogs and check back often as these blogs will be updated often.
