Dear Clerc Center Community,
This year two Kendall students are making a special contribution to the celebrations for honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tune in to the The Oprah Winfrey Show on January 21, 2008 and you will see our very own Kendall students Justyce Abbott and LaDasha Williams perform parts of the famous speech “I Have a Dream” in American Sign Language.
The Oprah Winfrey Show producers selected our students from a national pool of applicants. The production team filmed the segment with Justyce and LaDasha on site at the National Mall. The show will feature children ages 10 and 11 from all over the country honoring Dr. King.
Please join me in congratulating our students Justyce Abbott and LaDasha Williams and tune in to watch them on January 21st. Check your local listings for show times.
I would like to express my thanks to Holly McBride, Tara Downing, Jennifer Furlano, Juniper Sussman, and Marlene Matthews for their work
in preparing our students for this event.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Farmer, KDES Principal
