HATS OFF to the KENDALL VOLLEYBALL PLAYERS

What an EXCITING season!

Skills and drills are our focus as we learn the game of volleyball and work to figure out the positions that suit our strengths.

Each player brings different experiences and talents to the court. Renee Glanville and Lily McNamara have demonstrated power serves. Karina Martin has made many saves. Lark McNamara and Shadaye White often made more than 5 straight serves and demonstrated an outstanding sportsmanship in each and every game. Ariana Myers the rookie and quickest player on the team, was always on the move on the court. Tiffany VanBoxlaere, Kelly Doleac, Stephanie Vazquez, and Amberlin Hines have shown great improvement in their skills, and we look forward to having them again next year. Together, the team brought with them a great mix of talent, energy, and drive.

The first regular game of the season, we lost to our rival, Maryland School for the Deaf (Frederick), BUT… we got our sweet revenge by beating them at the last regular game. It was an exciting and close game. Our overall record was 7 wins and 3 losses.
KDES is a part of the PVAC league. We were surprised and excited that we were seeded #1 with a league record of 5 wins and 1 loss. Unfortunately, the team didn’t fare well during the semi-final game against Covenant Life. The score was 25-23, 21-25 and 10-15. In spite of our disappointing loss, the coaches are extremely proud of our volleyball players for an outstanding job all season long.
Good luck to the 8th graders who will be moving on into the next level (junior varsity or varsity levels).

We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to parents, teachers, staffs and friends for their tremendous support. By watching our games, and giving compliments to the players, you have inspired our girls to play well.

We hope to see more fans at the next volleyball season. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Kelly Orsi and Steve Doleac for all of their support throughout the volleyball season.

We hope more girls will join volleyball next year! Come and join us!

Head Coach, Tonya Killam
