#2 Global Warming - human or natural causes?

Hello SOAR-High students - I am interested in your responses to this question. Data shows that the Earth's temperature overall has increasing. (see data here) Some scientists say this is because of natural changes in the Earth's environment. Some scientists say it is not 'natural'... it is warming because humans are changing the atmosphere.

What is your opinion? What have you learned about the Earth's energy budget to help you answer this question? How could humans be changing the atmosphere?

You have studied the six spheres of the Earth system, and I'm sure you read about hurricane Katrina. Katrina was a big event in the Earth system! Think about connections between the spheres during Katrina. What spheres were involved? Describe how spheres interacted with each other.
