Main Characters in 1-4 chapters:
Boxer: a horse
Old Major: a old pig
Clover: another horse
Napoleon: A bossy pig
Snowball: other pig
Jessie: a dog

What do I think about this book?
Well, not bad book (chapter 1-4, the rest will be coming up next). But that book is way different than the movie

Kaori's thoughts on Animal Farm

My opinion of animal farm movie is much seemed interesting for me. But animal farm book is very bored. But my teacher suggest my class work to watch animal farm movie, we did watch movie. After that we read animal book, its part of our grades. Animal farm book is boring but the author is great story that he is tells about story of long ago in Civil War of Russia and American war and plus Russia have communism, its same animal farm. Animal farm is about having communism and animal and people are equal.

So... I kind of like animal farm, it’s little bit interesting to me.

Chelsea's perspective on Animal Farm

Jeez Animals Farm book is really boring ever I had read in whole my life! I suggest you don't read, Animal Farm. I know that Animals Farm is history of happened in past, Civil war but I will still have to read this book because all classmate have to read too, our teacher lisa told us to read this book.
This book all about animals who suffers live in barn, Mr. Jones not pay attention to animals, animals are starving. Major had passed away by old age. People who live in that village, don't know that Mr. Jones's animals can talk. Men try to destroy animals, house, everything but animals beat men. But some pigs tricks to other animals, pigs sleep on bed, drinking whiskey animals should not drink, pigs didn't do work while other animals work, refuse sleep on bed, refuse drink whiskey and others. On day pigs say "four are legs better"," two legs are good". Many animals upset because what men did to animals , they think people should be bad not better.

Tanae's take on Animal Farm

The author wrote those book so

The two pigs control and order the entire animal to do and not do. The pig can do anything what they want, or needs. The pig has more thing than the animal do. The animals have limit things like foods, place to sleep, and etc… They don't have a lot right.

The dictators order the people to do and not to do. The dictators have lot money, enough clothes, and plenty foods to eat to keep. The entire people struggle with moneys, children, clothes, and works. They don't have a right to have freedom.

The author wrote these books so they want everybody wake up, read that books to find out the truth in other country.

Anna's feelings about Animal Farm

Major was telling all animal in barn what he dreamed last night and sang a song Beast of England" also told the rules that the animals had to follow the rules. Later in 2 days major died. Then Napoleon was controlling all animals that they had to do something what he wants. Boxer was working hard to bring all hays and all that stuff that Napoleon told him to do it.

Later all that hard work so far. All the men who lived there, came and make all the animals stop but all animals made them to go away. So they changed the banner manor farm to Animal Farm. Once Napoleon was the leader and broke the rules and add some of them to something that he still can do something he want while all animals cant do it. Then he made a song that 4 legs good 2 legs better.

How I feel about this book….

Animal farm book kind of boring to me and it old book. Our teacher Lisa made us to read this loco book!

Brennan's thoughts about Animal Farm

So far, Old Major has rallied the animals from a meeting to start the farm rebellion. As the furor started, old Major died, and three months later, after much teaching and rules, the starving, neglected animals broke in the feed barn and overcome the humans. Manor Farm was now Animal Farm.

The pigs led the running of the farm, but secretly Napoleon plotted and brainwashed the pups born by their oblivious mothers to take over Animal Farm. Soon it happened, and the good pig Snowball was banished by the huge dogs raised from the pups.

I think Napoleon just wanted power, so he took over. It is pretty obvious that he was plotting for some time, but I wonder when he got the idea. Did he have some effect on Old Major and his idea? It would have some effect on the story, and if my recent question is true, then maybe the entire rebellion was carefully orchestrated by Napoleon to take over the farm. It is an interesting prospect in my mind.

I think this is a great book, and it is perfectly parallel with Stalin’s Takeover, and the plot and details are great. If you put Stalin with Napoleon, the pieces fall into place, and you see how Stalin made his reign. It is one you definitely should read.

Diego's thoughts on Animal Farm

So far what I know about animal farm is that the main reason why it was written was because that George Orwell wanted people, the world to know who the type of leader Stalin really was. Stalin who was played by the role of the pig Napoleon in the story were both really the same and had the same traits. George Orwell had to publish the book yet late then when animal farm was made for the fact of being killed by either Stalin or his comrades, so the word won’t spread through out the world of his terrible deeds. My opinion of the story is that it’s really quite clever because of the way he attracts the reader of his story because of the way he replaced the charters with the animals and the fact that he risked his life just to make sure the Stalin won’t get away for what he did.

Ashlie's feelings about Animal Farm

Animal farm is a story based on freedom, although it's called animal farm it's not actually about animals it is really about a man named Stalin who tried to take over and rule Russia a long time ago.
I probably wouldn’t recommend this book to any one because it’s not really the type of book that I would usually go for. Although it is a good book and it makes some good points about how humans treat animals, but they were actually talking about human to human, but because they were animals I looked at it as animal to human and it makes me think of all the animals and people out there in the world that are suffering everyday from many different things or even being abused (especially animals). A pig in this book by the name of Old Major reminds me of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. when he mentions that he has a dream to tell, and that is another reason why I like this book, because I am African American myself and that is in my history: Black History.

Deaf President Now 20th Anniversary

From DPN20.com

In 1988, the Deaf community had a dream, the dream of a Deaf president for Gallaudet University. Working together with the hearing community, we made our dream come true. Twenty years later, DPN remains an unprecedented and unforgettable event in Deaf history.

Ashlie Day 1 &2

It was time for a new president, and the people of the Board of Trustees elected a hearing person as president. Deaf people did not agree with this decision, they grew boiling mad. This was because deaf people don’t understand hearing people, so how will deaf and hearing people communicate? : Is what the deaf people said. So they planned to fight for their right of having a deaf president and they agreed that they would not stop until they have succeeded at this…
I 100% agree with the deaf people, because around this time hearing people didn’t care much for deaf people and if I was born around this time and old enough to understand this argument I would’ve been very upset also because I am hard-of-hearing and very close to becoming deaf. Hearing people always got their way: hearing president, after hearing president, after hearing president…Now it was deaf people’s turn.

My advice to everyone: Just like the deaf people in this event, you should always fight for your right (what you believe in)!!!

Anna DPN Day 3

Four peoples who are leader for DPN Deaf President protest Bridgetta Buroune, Jerry Covell, Greg Hlibok, and Tim Ranurs. They run the Gallaudet University’s protest. This protest was on national T.V., newspapers cross the country!

Tanea DPN Day 4

Hello, my name is Tanea Brown. Day 4 March 8, 1988. Two groups went to Congress. The 4 leaders told them they wanted to kick out the President who applied. She would not leave so they had a huge protest. They wanted her out because she did not understand Deaf culture, what Deaf people need, what is needed for the college and so many other things. She will not even know how to communicate with people here because she does not know ASL

Brennan DPN Day 4

Hello, my name is Brennan. DPN ( Deaf President Now) day 4 on Wednesday March 9. In the early morning a small group from Gallaudet met with two committee men named David Bonior and Steve Gunderson. During the meeting zinser and I King Jordan went to a hotel and met with fo9ur student leaders of the protester. The four students begged Zinser to resign telling her it was best so that way the protest would not continue. But Zinser refused saying she would not resign. Later Zinser and I King Jordan had a National press conference saying that Jordan supported Zinser. In Gallaudet staff and teachers met and decided most would support the protest. At 4pm Bonior and Gunderson met with Zinser and told her it was best to resign because they truly believed in the protest. Soon after this Bonior announced that he also supported the protest. The day ended with zinser, Hilbok and Marlee Matlin, a Deaf actress who won an award in 1983, interviewing on ABC’s Nightline. ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Kaori DPN Day 5

Greg Hilbok was the leader of four leading young adults of the protest against Zinser. Because he was trying to stop the hearing people from become president of Gallaudet University.

King Jordan worked for Zinser but then he stopped working for her because deaf people refused to let him work for her. That night, Jordan resigned because of the protest, which caused Zinser to resign.

Amberlin Day 5

Greg Hlibok, one of the four student leaders, shown up on “Good Morning America” on ABC TV. Talked about Zinser and Spilman was forced out Gallaudet campus from students drove the bus and parked by the gate. Blocked the gate and deflated the tires.

Rallies counties all day. One deaf school called National Technical Instinute for the Deaf got buses and got stuffs loaded there. They also brought $5,000 check from American Postal Union.

King Jordan used to support Zinser but not anymore because many rallies around. And he thinks students’ rallies are justified.

That night Zinser told everybody that she registers.

Diego Day 6

Hello my name is Diego, Day 6
Zinser resigned but many students were mad because 3 ½ demands had not yet finished. Later students marched to the Capitol building and were very happy because many people listened and paid attention. Then later the students had meeting in the Field house
