Response to a newspaper article
I was saddened by what I read in " For Many Causualties, No Who, How, or When" This article was from Washington post online updated yesterday. It was shocking to see how many people can be separated by a hurricane. There was a woman who was called by her twin sister who lives in New Orleans. The twin sister was stuck in the house with nine dogs and cats. Her last words was "Let me find some plywood, bye" The twin sister in Chicago then felt that her sister was dead in her heart. There was a amazing story too. A hundred year old woman was stuck in suffocating second floor bedroom for five days. She lived for those five days but as soon as a helicopter recused her and was flying her to a hospital she died.It was sad. Then there was a family of a man who survied the hurricane but died soon after that. His daughter said he grieved hiself to death because his wife was dead. I can't imagine my famiy gone, house destroyed or my things smashed to little bits. I am thankful the hurricane did not hit VA. I will try to help the surviours of the hurricane

Yes, the hurricane Katrina was tragic. Lives have been shattered and destroyed. Loved ones separated from each other. Hope becomes scarce. I wonder what lessons does this event teach you now that you do have a family, friends, and a roof... Will you take life for granted?
